A DEFINITIVE answer on bags under the eyes?
    Hello,

I’ve scoured the net for days looking for a definitive answer on how to get rid of these dark circles under my eyes. I drink lots of water and get my regular sleep. I’ve also had it confirmed it is not hereditary. I also have a partial science background so feel free to explain at length whats going on here.

I’ve come across a few solutions I am willing to try, and I would like some input on some (hopefully supported by actual medical research) of the validity concerning each of these. I am sure that many more people than myself would benefit from a definitive (or close) answer who are also in the same situation.

    1) A Cream with vitamin K and retinol applied to the eyes
    2) Cucumber or potato slices applied in the morning over the “bags”
    3) A concoction of 1tbsp tomato juice, 1/2 tbsp lemon juice, and a teaspoon of turmeric. To be applied for 20min daily.
What I would like is some definitive answers on any of these, or other possible solutions that have been shown to work. Ty.

Don’t Carry Those Eye Bags With You!

Modern life puts a lot of stress on our bodies and eyes are among the first things to suffer Bags under the eyes are often caused by fat accumulation in the area of the eye, and will develop slowly over a matter of years. Not everyone develops them, but once you do, only surgery can reverse the process.

Eye bags can be caused by:
      Allergies.
      Hormonal issues.
Staying up too late at night.
      Thyroid conditions or Graves’ disease.
Saggy skin caused by the normal aging process.
Bending the head over for several hours during the previous day.

      Simple solutions:
Raw potato slices will help tighten baggy eyes. All you need is a potato and a knife or slicer!

      To Make:
      1. Slice 1/4 potato to fit over your eyes.
      2. Cut 2 slices or, if you prefer, 5 to 10 very thin slices, several for each eye. Either method works.

      To Use:
      1. Sprinkle the eye area with water.
      2. Lying down, place the potato slices on your eyelids and leave in place for at least 10 minutes for best results.

The following are some tips on how to prevent the bags from developing:
      Sleep with the head elevated.
Don’t drink too many fluids right before going to sleep.
      Cut back on salt intake.
Avoid placing wrinkle remover cream near the eyes. When used near the eyes, it can actually cause too much hydration, and puffiness .
Steer clear of oil-based makeup. The oil can cause the skin under the eyes to swell and become inflamed.
Avoid anything that can cause an allergic reaction. For example, sleeping on a feather pillow can cause puffiness under the eyes .
Always wash your makeup off each night, as the residue can fill the pores causing swelling.

What Are The Surgical Options Available for eye bags?
Baggy eyes or bags under the eyes can be cured surgically. This procedure is called blepharoplasty. This procedure uses a laser to remove excess skin and fat deposits from the upper and lower eyelids.

      Deflating Puffiness:
Wash the entire face with very cold water. The cold can get the blood moving through the veins in the face, and potentially flush out the excess water under the skin.
Tap lightly on the bags to help encourage the fluid trapped in the area to dissipate. This must be done with caution because the skin under the eyes is very delicate.
Use tea bags soaked in cold water, and rest them on the eyes for several minutes.
If an allergic reaction is suspected take an antihistamine to see if it reduces the swelling.
Diuretics can help with water retention, so taking one can sometimes help the body expel excess fluids, but only use under the advice of a doctor.

      Could they be caused by:

A] Allergies. Aka allergic shiners. (yes, medically proven. and I get those alot =/ )
B] Water retention, or excess sodium consumption.
      C] Broken blood vessels.

On something to help- I havent been able to “get rid” of mine, but you could try investing in some concealer (it’s not foundation), even though I know guys don’t usually go for makeup.

Dark circles under eyes…what’s a solution?
I’m 24 and I have really dark circles under my eyes. I get more than enough sleep and I’ve tried cucumbers, teabags etc. I have a sinus problem also so I think that may be a contributing factor…

Since nothing seems to work, I simply use concealer. I also have tried some eye creams but I’ve heard that creams containing Vitamin K and Retinol are especially effective.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the name of a cream and which company makes it that contains Retinol and Vit K. I had a look at Walgreens but couldn’t find any with those 2 specific ingredients.

    Much appreciated! Thanks…

i need help with what to buy?
i want a cream that you can buy in local shops like superdrug and boots for a price that people can afford.. i coped this information to see if it would help get the best cream please help, 10 points for best answer

Check the labels. You want something that contains Vitamin K, kojic acid and licorice extract. Both are natural lighteners. Vitamin K heals damage and constricts the capillaries that are showing through the thin under you eye.

Look for a professional strength product. Dermal K Clarifying cream, for example, used to only be available through a dermatologist (see resources below).

Consider Vita-K Solution gel, Puritan’s Pride Vitamin K cream or Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue.

Compare prices and ingredients. Most Vitamin K products come in two ounce jars or tubes (see resources below).

Mix Vitamin K with a Vitamin A product. Apply a Vitamin A derivative such as retinol every other night. Scientists have found that combining the two is more effective at lightening dark

Ask your dermatologist for recommendations. She may be able to write you a prescription for a stronger Vitamin K cream.

Who needs some fancy ice cream? I got the best candy in the world. It´s called: Find your own meaning of life and be self-confident about yourself! I never needed ice cream to color my life, to explain things to me i dont understand. Can´t a rainbow just be pretty? Does it have to be “engineered” by a divine creature so it makes sense the way it looks? Call me an Ice-Cream Heretic, but a world without ice-cream would be a much more peaceful place. Since everyone thinks their ice cream is the best ;)

    (4) K is written for c when so pronounced; otherwise the letter c is used. The pronunciation of c is thus one and the same in all positions, but might be either [s] or [ts]; in the former case (as in the corresponding case sub 3) we should have two ways of writing the same sound, which might cause difficulties for those who are not familiar with traditional European spelling and who learn the I.A.L. orally – a class of people which is negligible nowadays, but must be counted with in the future, if our I.A.L. is really to spread according to its idea. The second pronunciation, [ts], is the one given everywhere to c in Esperanto and Ido, in the formerly undoubtedly on account of Zamenhof's Polish extraction; and in both languages c is used extensively with this value not only before e and i, but also before other vowels. This is in many cases a direct consequence of the structure of the language with its frequent grammatical endings o, a, as, os, us; as all substantives end in -o, we must have not only princino princess, but also princo prince, paco peace, further verbs like intencas, intencos, intencus (various tenses of the verb for `intend'). In Ido we have the demonstratives ca, co, taken from F ce, but with a pronunciation and endings not found in F, and further a great many verbs like formacar, importacar, where the sound [ts] is taken, curiously enough, from the Latin (F E etc.) ending -ation, which has no place as such in the system. This use or abuse of the letter c is one of the most striking features of this group of constructed languages, but, as already remarked, is somewhat repellant to most people outside the Slavic world.

    HI PLEASE HELP ME OUT!
I've bought the 2 0z. creme, it was presented as X'mas set in 2009 at their store in Hong Kong. Now is 2011, and I haven't use up even 1/5 of it! As I always keep it in a refrigerator, I've forgot to use it. So it's gonna be expired in the coming X'mas and I don't think I can use it up before the expire, as Hong Kong is so humid and hot in Spring and Summer.

So PLEASE HELP or give me some ideas what can I do with it, as throw it away will be such a waste! Thanks =)
